During the scene where the Kraken attacks the boat, they shoot a barrel of gunpowder or rum exploding it and hurting the Kraken. How is this possible if the bullet produced from the gun doesn't light (the gunpowder)? When you fire a gun it only temporaily lights it to shoot the bullet but after that its just a piece of refined metal going really fast. Does the gunpowder light from a result of fiction or just something added to the movie to make it look "cool?"

Its a movie... anything can happen...

Maybe metal hitting something really fast produced the spark.

perhaps the aim was so good that it just so happened to hit a nail causing a tiny spark which amazingly lit the whole thing...

i dunno it's a movie :D

They also used this bit in the Clint Eastwood film "Two Mules for Sister Sarah", but they blew up a bridge instead of a kraken.

well if it was a normal callibur, the force of the bullet wouldn't be strong enough to explode the barrel. You can get special bullets to do this, but they probavly did this to make the movie look cool.

The bullet would still be hot, but it is a work of fiction.

It's a movie about curses and sea monsters. Don't expect it to be realistic. It's supposed to be entertainment not reality.
