I'm going to Italy in February.
I have a hairdryer that's dual voltage 120/240 and 1875 watts. Would I still need a converter to make it the correct amount of watts or can I just use an adapter to make it fit the plug?
Puh-lease only answer if you know what you're talking about

if the hairdryer is dual voltage as you stated, all you need is a plug adapter (so you can plug it into the outlet), not a voltage regulator or a "step-down".
You can buy the little universal adapters at Radio Shack, the airport in USA and in Italy (I bought one at the Rome airport last Summer). Just remember, some appliances such as your hairdryer sense the voltage and set itself automatically and some have a little slide switch which you will need to make sure is set on the higher number, when in Europe.

P.S. Most hotels in Europe have hairdryers in the room. I travel all over Southern Europe on business and I think every hotel I stayed in last year (in Italy) had a hairdryer already in the room.

Have fun!

Jas is correct. Just for information sake, the watts don't change... you're thinking or hertz. Those do. On your power suppy of your hairdryer, it probably also says 50/60Hz... that's the hertz. But, by the counds of it, it is multi-voltage and you just need an adaptor to change the shape of the plug. :)

I think you just need a plug and I checked here:
