The tiger would win. It is larger and more
powerfulthan the lion and would be a better fighter as it is
a
solitary animal. A lion hunts in a pride and on
its own is nowhere near as formidable.tiger has proven to be more victorious over the
lion in fights. they fought numerous times in the roman colliseum. the tiger according to several sources especially Guiness says the tiger almost always
won.
“The lion is a less active animal than the tiger, and apparently not so powerful; in every case of a fight between the two in a menagerie the tiger has invariably killed his opponent.” (Referring to the Asiatic lion
In fights between a tiger and a lion in the wild, the tiger is usually the winner. - The Rudiments of Wisdom Encyclopedia by Tim Hunkin
The Siberian (Ussuri or Amur alike) Tiger (really angry and hungry) fighting for its life, not a prey, vs. any lion, and the “King” will stay no chances.
This cat (male or female alike, I emphasize) is almost twice larger and much more agile then the male lion, and its in constant move in huge distances, not much zebras and wildebeast in Siberia around, ;-) And snow is 6 feet deep 5 months fof the year. So, wanna bet its endurance and stamina? Villagers reported that a tiger took an adult cow and jump over a 10-feet fence.
The mane will not help the lion. This brazza is fat and lazy, females do the killng. Occasionally, perhaps once in a year
99% reported figths happnned either with Bengalian/East Asian tigers, or African/Arabian tigers (now extinct, but lived in the Ancient Roman times), which are much smaller, so I can belive that chances a bit higher on the lion.

Someone had a video, not that long ago and on this site, showing several encounters between tigers and lions, possible in a zoo or preserve. Tigers made lions cut and run every time. In every instance documented of a fight between a tiger and a lion; the tiger won. I hope to never see this question here again.

I would guess the tiger. The tiger being a loner having to hunt and defend itself alone, while the lions live in the pride. And I believe tigers are larger and outweigh the lion by quite a bit. Like I said...I would guess.

Tigers are the larger of the two, and are used to being isolated, so a larger, self reliant cat in a fight against a smaller, group-dependent cat... I'd say the tiger would win.
BUT
Are you talking about a male or female Lion? Gender does play a part in the cat's ability to fight... a small role at least
And why are you asking? Not betting on any animal fights are we>?

I would have to go with the Tiger, because after watching The Wizard of Oz, the lion didn't seems so tough.

LIGERS.. have better fighting skills because its mixed with BOTH the Lion and Tiger.
And yes LIGERS are real. They are a hybrid cross between a male lion and a female tiger.
But separetly its definately the Tiger.

sad to say if it,s two lions vs 1 tiger the lions will win but if it,s one on one the tiger would win because the tiger has better fixablity and lions are fat and lazy i saw it happen on animal planet.

There not noted for there fighting skills. Maybe cocks or chickens are noted for their fighting skills. But to answer the question correctly I would have to say without a question of a doubt. The Lion. Why? Because HE'S KING OF THE JUNGLE!

if it's one on one, my money would be on the tiger since they are solitary hunters. Also tigers tend to be larger than lions, and lions rely on the pride to help bring down prey.
