Personal Managers aka Talent Managers

"The personal manager is another type of seller who works with a very small group of signed clients. Managers are not franchised by any of the unions or regulated in any way. The Conference of Personal Managers, serving as a sort of board of ethics and standards, aims to advance the reputation of the group

Managers frequently work with agents, again with a small number they are close to, or they may sometimes go directly to casting directors, producers, or directors to get their clients' work seen. But a manager may not sign the deal; only a franchised agent can do that."

A "manager" is not licensed, bonded nor regulated anywhere.

They can take upwards to 25% of your income.

They basically do some of the work or an Agent and Lawyer, but have the credentials nor regulations of either.

Unfortunately the biggest representatives in show biz call themselves MANAGERS not AGENTS

Including the Ford Agency at times.

A talent manager will book you shows and get your auditions. A really good manager can even get you jobs that you didnt even audition for. They usually take 10% of your money from gigs.
