First thing to check is your mattress! You could need a new one. An uncomfortable mattress will keep you up.

If you take any medications see your pharmacist to make sure it's not a side effect.

Cut back on any and all caffeine!

Eat better. Cut out processed foods and white flour. Eat fresh food.

Try some exercise during the day. It'll wear you down for bed. It can be as easy as walking for just half an hour.

If nothing works see your doctor. Good luck.

First thing, before trying drugs, is to see what's causing this. Are you stressed out over something? Are you currently on any medications? If you are taking naps during the day, you need to stop b/c it can ruin your sleep cycle. Alcohol can also ruin your sleep cycle. Are you exercising? If you have a normal diet and exercise routine, aren't taking any medications or alcohol, and it's not from stress, then see a doctor to get a sleeping pill. If your insomnia is due to an underlying problem, then fixing that problem is the first step.

Lunesta...get it from a Doctor. prescription
I used Ambien and this works to but Lunesta is good for the long haul..you can take it over a long period of time.
Most of these meds are addictive
check out a sleep study...there is usually a two night stay
you might have sleep apena..
stay away from surgery...cpaps are good if you can tolerate them
most Drs. or ENT will help you too
