I want to surprise my boyfriend with a hot air balloon ride for Valentine's Day/ his birthday. It will be in February in Virginia and I was wondering if we should take a sunrise or sunset balloon ride! Any suggestions??

Sunrise, it is scary to come down from a balloon ride it total darkness, but easy to go up that way.

Sunset Hot Air Balloon Rides

Either way, as long as you're at the right spot to see the sun going up or down. The advantage of sunrise is you got the rest of the day to enjoy in each other's company, from breakfast, lunch, a stroll in the park, shopping, and evening activities. Whereas with sunset, you get a romantic evening laid out for you to have dinner and dancing.

I would do Sunrise....Sunset would be nice but after it gets dark, you might have a hard time landing the hot air balloon...plus it will be something I'm sure he'll talk about all day.

Sunset. If I were going to die in a hot air balloon ride I would want to be wide awake and have a nice day before doing so.

both are so beautiful but I suggest sunrise!

anyone can see a sunset easily but not many are up for the sunrise and it's just beautiful!!!

from my own personal experiences I am going to suggest the sunrise! Just hope you can be up that early and not grumpy!!

sunset! sunrise would make him have to get up super early. on a special day like that, he should be able to sleep in! make sure he's not afraid of heights, and have a wonderful time!

sunset will be great, but maybe one of you would freak out when the night falls.
Sunrise it's beautiful, but then you have to plan something else for a special valentine's night.
Sorry, take a pick.
