Looks like your question brought the "crazies" out. My husband has worked as a creative service producer for the last decade of a NBC affiliate station. I can tell you that the media sways to the advertisers. They are the cash cow.

Ultimately, the media is on the media's side. They're out to report the stories that will sell the best, and will gain them the largest sum of money without destroying their credibility.

Because of this, the media tends to be against whoever is in power, whether that happens to be the "Right wing radical media" that published a ton of bad press when Clinton lied under oath about his sex life, or the "Left wing liberal media" that keeps pointing out how Bush's "security" policy is actually making America less secure.

I don't think the media is as left as people think it is -- at least the newsmedia. Entertainment is another story, but even so, shows seem to be afraid to say things that the right finds unacceptable. Even PBS is censoring things that it didn't used to. The "right" has a bit more sway in the media than people think.
But I think instead we ought to be looking at the perspectives told in the media -- it's very limited, and very much extreme. And people eat it up.

But all in all, big media corporations (and not nessesarily individual journalists) are on their own side -- to make money. And that's all it comes down to. Their agenda isn't about left or right, it's about advertising dollars and maintaining elitism.

The administration lied about the reasons for going to war in Iraq, correct? What forum(s) did they use to, effectively, spread the lies, without question? Which entities, television, radio and print, broke faith with the First Amendment of the U. S. Constitution and aided in the deception of the public?

The radical left-wing democrats . They champion their battle cries - that's why we can tell . They side with terrorists over our troops who dodge bullets , at every turn . It's no secret who the biased media is for . Many newspapers got started in the hopes of championing their political party . The only difference now is ..the secret is out .

I'm a journalist. Let's just get that nasty secret out of the way. We are taught to be objective. A lot of times when we write, we have to rewrite because it isn't 'jazzy or sexy' enough, that's how errors happen. Other times, it's because people are afraid to talk to us, or give us bad information or quotes. It's our fault, of course, but it isn't at the same time, because there are so many rules and guidelines that we have to follow.
