Smokey eyes are great! Its my everyday thing.
First you start with a very black eye liner on the top lid at the base of your lashes that streches from conner to end, Then take a Q tip and smear up wards to creat a shadow effect. then creat that same effect on the bottom. Finish up with some light cream on the base of your eye brow and you have the perfect "Smokey eye"

This is when you have very dark eyeshadow and eyeliner on. It looks good on some people... butlike all makeup depends on how well you put it on and your coloring. For instance, this tends to look really good on girls with dark blue eyes and black or dark brown hair. It can work on pretty much any eyecolor as long as your hair color and eyebrows are pretty dark. However, if done correctly, it looks good on blondes and redheads too. Here is an example:
