Yes,I definately think you could accomplish this task but there are some things you need to know first. One it's not the age or how long a person has been playing that makes them pro .It's about learning the right techniques and fundamentals of the game and growing from there. It's also about how quickly you can learn them which will be extremely important for you. It's about developing the mind of a pro tennis player. If you can develop your mind fast enough you can do it ! I would suggest you read a book called "the power mind system" by Michael Monroe Kiefer. You can find it at amazon.com. Read the mental mechanics part of it .It will teach you how use your mind to learn this stuff quickly. Also about the washed up at over the age of 30 thing. Don't listen to that it's bull. Some players over 30 are considered old because they've been playing for like 20+ years already and are burned out,but since you've just started you're fresh. Also number 1 rule : Never listen to people who tell you you can't do something because the only thing they will tell you is reasons why you can't; and I'm assuming you want reasons as to why you can.

If you are just starting playing tennis seriously at 19, honestly I do NOT think you can achieve too much as a pro. That's because you will be competing against other pros who have have been eating tennis strings for breakfast since the age of 7. They have many more hours than you on the court. I know, it sucks, I have found the same problem when I started playing table tennis and chess at around the age of 17 (too old).
However, I think you can become a strong player if you wish to pursue this, and can become a coach for younger players or maybe even a coach for pros.

NO, if you're just starting out then it's just not possible. Most tennis players pick up a racket at a very early age, and considering that a 30 year old is over the hill in the sport, there just isn't the time to make up all the coaching and practice that others your age have had.
But i'm not 1 to squash someone's dream so if you want to do it then go for it, if you succeed there will definitely be a movie about you.

I played tennis for 11 years of my life, give or take. I played every single season, and during the summer played 8 hour days. I went to state and all of that in High School a year ago, and had to stop because of surgery in my heart. However, even though tennis is hard, and the odds are against you. I believe that if you try hard enough and set your mind to it, you can accomplish it. Just set your mind to it, and remember, keep your eye on the ball and always move your feet. Good luck! No. At 19 unless you've had a top ITA world junior ranking then forget it.
You could buck the system maybe, but if your talent hasn't shone already, it probably won't.
If you have a good game and just want to play and see the world, then go ahead. If your tennis can match your expenses.

It would be a pointless mismatch. The women would stand no chance. As good as the top women might be in their own sport, they would struggle to win points against guys outside the top 1000 (yes 1000, not 100) in the rankings. It would be a joke.
