the best cleaner and cure for skipping cd players I ever used was a shot of compressed air, gently let off a few blasts just at the tray opening do NOT insert a nozzle into the tray it can damage the laser eye that reads the discs. Compressed air is powerful stuff.

Canned compessed air will work fine to clean out dust of a CD player, do not use a regular Compressor and an air hose since it often has moisture in it. Do not turn the can of canned air upside down either when you spray it, it will spray out liquid CO2 and possibly make your Lens dirty due to the moisture. keep the can upright and you should be fine.

Compressed gas? Are you talking about a can of compressed air?
It shouldn't hurt anything. If it's not working now and a disc cleaner hasn't fixed it, what do you have to lose?

Do you have a tape player in your car? If so I would recommend getting a tape player that plays anything that has a headphone jack. I would give you the site where to get it but I can't find it anywhere. I bought one a month ago at Target, it cost 20dollars. I found it by the accessories electronic section. It sounds really clear, you couldn't tell the difference, we literally can play anything with a headphone jack we tried ipod, laptop, and psp.

i own a repair shop, and it really needs to be took out,and the top took off the unit, and have it blown out this way then the dust can escape out of the player,if you do this with it in there it may blow it off to one spot where it will affect another part of the player,i always remove them ,and remove the top, this is much better than just blowing the dust around in there, good luck,i hope this help,s.
