Yes, made them as gifts this last holiday season and they came as good or better than many store bought items. I used Belgian chocolate, heavy cream, butter, cognac. Made several different kinds with nuts, candied ginger, homemade chile powder. They really were delicious!
There was only one tiny problem: getting them to look round and symmetrical with a little curlicue on top is juuuuust a liiittle difficult!

Yep, my daughter and I made almost 200 champagne truffles for her wedding. They are very easy and taste like little chocolate bombs.

Very good, but only use the highest quality of chocolate you can find and make sure your cream is room temperature, they turn out better.
