I have lived here for a year and a half. I signed a lease again in October that doesn't expire until July. Are there responable landlords who will let you you out early? It will only be 2 months early and they offered me a 6 month, but I took the 9, didn't know I end up pregnant! If I stay unil July I will end up having my baby here which is a long story, but will make my life very hard. Should I get a lawyer or something?

Talk to your landlord and explain the situation. Because you're a long term tenant, they might be more flexible. Otherwise, you're entitled to break lease, but they might expect you to pay the costs associated with getting another tenant.

I am currently breaking my lease and my landlord was very understanding. The key is to be very respectful, upfront, and give them as much notice as possible. I gave a verbal notice then followed up with a thoughtfully written notice. You have to think of it the way you would want to treated if the tables were turned. Nobody wants to be shafted, but given the oppurtunity most people will be reasonable if you approach them in a calm and respectful manner. Remember going in that they owe you nothing and don't have to care about your problems or circumstances, they have their own. So don't try and go the sympathy route. Good luck!

I would suggest getting a Lawyer to help you in this matter. When it comes to "Breach of Contract" you don't want to mess around. Try the site below and watch the online movie presentation. This is the most affordable way to get access to an Attorney. I wish you the very best.

Doesn't hurt to ask your landlords and explain the situation. Many will let you out!
