The difference is that the Upgrade can only be installed on a system with Windows XP. You save a little money. Since it is not the full version, however, you cannot do a full install on a computer that does not have WinXP. For example, if you only bought the Upgrade and then you were to get a virus that wiped out your entire computer, you would need to reinstall windows. In order to reinstall Vista with the Upgrade, you would have to first install Windows XP and then upgrade it to Vista.

To answer your question though, you will not be able to notice any difference in the two after they have been installed. The only difference is the install process.

Good luck

the diffrence is that you will not be able to do a clean install with the upgrade version that is to say that you must have xp installed to use the upgrade disk. This can create problems, if your hard drive were to die you would need to install xp and then install vista over it. that would double the amount of time it will take to fix.

That and the cost.
Windows Vista Home Premium $299 (has media center features)
Windows Vista Home Premium Upgrade $199(has media center features)
so $100 is what you are paying to be able to run the setup on a blank computer.

It is sad that they have crippled their upgrade copies by doing this.

Then get the upgrade...same exact operating system.

Only difference is that you pay less because you have already own a valid license for the previous version.

You won't be getting anything extra with the complete.
