It changes. Depends on my mood, tastes at the time, etc. Lately I vacillate between mystery/thriller, and romance. Mystery/thriller books are a lot of fun, especially when you find an author you really like and they are prolific. Romance is a good read for those days you just can't decide what you want to read or do. Easy, calm read, everything is all neatly wrapped up and solved by the end.

First, I always go to the magazine section to see if any new issues of Mental Floss or The Fortean Times have come out since I was last there. After grabbing those, I'll move on over to the Mystery section to see if any of my favourite authors have any new novels out - (Elizabeth Peters, the Rumpole Books, Ruth Rendell). I'll usually move from there over to the regular fiction (including the classics) and decide which author I'm going to focus on. For example, recently I've been getting into Kipling so I'll check to see what Kipling they have on the shelves. I usually have 4 or 5 authors I'm interested in at any given time. I'll then slide on over to the Sci-Fi/ Fantasy section in the vain hopes that they will have some Theodore Sturgeon stocked (he's notoriously hard to find) and also just sort of generally check out what's new. Horror comes next - they might have a new Phil Rickman or Anne Rice. Next stop comes the Nature (Non-Fiction) section - they sometimes will have a Gerald Durrell that I don't own (though I think I have most of them), and finally the Cooking section - I love glancing through the ethnic cookbooks. I then take my purchases over to the checkout and am thankful I have that Barnes and Noble discount card!

I usually gravitate to the Fiction section. I love thriller, mystery, and political novels. I read romance too if I can find books by the authors I like. I also go to anime section.

The Fiction section. I can never get interested in nonfiction books, they're just not my cup of tea, therefore the fiction section is where I always go! After that, I go to the romance section, because I love romance too, although classic romances are better than modern romances. I like the teen fiction section as well. Last, I go to the poetry section, because I love poetry also.

The classics section tends to be my favorite one, I don't know exactly why, maybe I've decided to read and collect some good hardcover editions such as the Everyman's Library published by Alfred A. Knopf (London & New York). Its publication quality is quite superb, of high standard and with reasonable prices. I don't mean to buy all of them as listed in its web site, rather I would collect the ones I mean to read and reread such as "The Cairo Trilogy" by Naguib Mahfouz.

Well when I go to Borders, I usually gravitate towards the anime section because I'm into that kind of stuff. Their kinda like comic books and a lot of teens either sit or stand around that area to read. But it kind of gets annoying if there are too many kids crowded around.

I go straight to the FANTASY section. I love those 'epic quest' type books, like The Lord of the Rings. Good vs. evil. Sword and sorcery. Give me wizards, elves, dwarves, dragons, hobbits. I want to find the magic amulet, read mystic runes, cast spells, conquer (or befriend) the dragon, and ride the unicorn.
(Actually, I almost never allow myself to go into the bookstore, because it's far too dangerous! LOL Last time, I ended up spending $50! Ooooops!!!)

Wherever the literature is, although that's usually mixed in with Fiction.
I also like to dig through the religion section, scoffing at the stupid stuff and trying to figure out where they hid the Atheist stuff.

Cookbooks, or the christian section. Those are mostly the only books I buy. I like others, but I can always use a new cookbook.
