When you feel comfortable. Having a stuffed animal in the crib has nothing to do with SIDS (which is when an otherwise healthy baby suddenly stops breathing for no apparent reason after an autopsy) that is suffocation and SIDS and suffocation are no longer on the same level. I had a baby die of SIDS and have done years worth of research on the subject. The guidlines for determining a SIDS death have changed over the years so a suffocation death is suffocation not SIDS.

They say 12 months. But I started giving my daughter one two months ago (she'll be a year in a few weeks!!). We were staying in a hotel for a few weeks when we moved to our new city and she had to sleep in the same room with us in her playpen. Well, one night she was pretty upset so I gave her a small stuffed animal to help her get to sleep. After watching what she did when she fell asleep I felt it was okay. She never layed on it or fell asleep on it or got anywhere near it once she fell asleep, it always ended up on the other side of the bed, and stayed there until morning. It's still the same thing now, no problems whatsoever! She loves having a little companion for her naps and bedtimes, she gets to bed sooner as well. The only time I won't give her one is if she has had to take tylenol or pain reliever due to teething or a cold. But you should wait until they are a year old unless you have an experience like mine or something, or are around to observe them while they sleep.

I think 12 months is recommended. We have a 10 month old and she has been sleep with a stuffed animal that is more like a blanket with a head (Snuggy) for about 1 month now. She loves him and he keeps her entertained in the morning. I definitely wouldn't put one in before she can sit up on her own. And the hard eyed animals aren't very safe because babies can lock their little jaws around them and rip them out. Big choking hazard.

My daughter has her one particular blankie - she's had it together with her ever on the grounds that she grew to become into around 6 months previous. be certain that's not too great or heavy of a blanket. i like the suggestion approximately giving it to her for the period of naps and then making a decision from there.

They say about 12 months true
but i wouldn't really do it at all
because my sons like to chew on EVERYTHING
and i know that he with the right amount of time
could chew off a button no problem
so if your child isn't the ADVENTUROUS type like mine
then follow doctors recommendations if they are
just give them a blankie or something less well
easy to chew

At 12 months, but make sure the eyes and nose are sewn on, not hard ones. If they come off in the night the baby could choke on them. Since babies put EVERYTHING in their mouth.

Don't do it at any age, there are dust bugs that get into those things, that can cause allergies. Leave them on a shelf.
