to be JUST a make-up artist and make a lot of money....you would have to work...A LOT!!! You would have to get a regular gig, like for a network news team, or a sitcom, not just weddings and proms.

I found a statistic from Alberta, Canada from June 2006: Make up artists working part-time or full-time earned from $14,600 to $66,400 a year. The average salary was $28,900 a year. (I think that's before taxes...ugh)

The average is near poverty-espically in LA or NY (where the work is)

There are definate seasons, or busy times for make up artists, so you would more than likely have to get other part time work to supplement your income.

get a job as a Hollywood makeup artist. Or you could start your own makeup line, or do samplers at like macys. do nails and haircuts too!
