Paris, yet when I asked you to compare several Italian vs. French labels all of you picked the Italian labels as being superior. How can Paris be the capital of fashion if all the top labels are Italian (Prada, Armani, Gucci, Versace, Ferre', Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, etc)?

I didn't respond to your question earlier because it's hard for me to choose between the designers you mentioned in your last post. It was only Chanel I consider couture compared to the Italian designers, but if I can call all other designers then Paris is the leader.

Besides Chanel, I'd pick Louis Vuitton which NEVER goes on sale, Hermes that extremely beloved that you have to be on their waiting list for about 4 months to get a $7,000 Birken purse, to name a few. Italian designer is more popular because they're affordable compared to French ones.

i think french design houses are usually more creative and cutting-edge. on the other hand, the italian brands are more commercial, sacrificing true fashion for what sells. in terms of quality, they're both similar, in my experience. (not that i've tried or can afford couture of course!) i guess at the end of the day, it really depends on what your style is.
