The market has really collapsed to be honest. The only things of any value now are extremely rare imports, or things like 78's, and they have to be in excellent condition...as well as the jackets. I think your best bet is Ebay.....but that takes forever to sell all of them. There are record shows in many areas...you might want to consider buying a table. If you sell them all together you won't get nearly as much as you're hoping for.

Don't be too hasty. There are plenty of collectors out there for vinyl records and while they may not be very valuable right now, they might be very valuable in time. Many of us older folks appreciate the sound of the vinyl records over the CD's. As other have suggested, get an appraisal - get two or three. Trying to sell these on your own would be a P I A.
Check out the larger cities. Check out Houston, Dallas, and New Orleans for an appraiser or a store that specializes in vinyl records. If they are in good shape you may be surprised at their worth. Wish I lived near you, I would be tempted to make an offer myself!

Well I have a friend who runs an antique auction house and we have auctioned off some vinyl records but I'm going to be honest with you they don't bring much money though.

You could try ebay. Sometimes they do ok, but for the most part they won't bring a lot of money.
Garage sales seem to work ok for albums.
Or, search for a store in your area that buys and sells old records.

First thing you should do is get them appraised by a reputable dealer or Auction house.
Having Certificates of Authenticity is a big plus when finally deciding to sell them.
Contact some big-name auction dealers to see what and amounts of Commissions they charge for auctioning items on your behalf.
Don't sell them before you learn their true value. Take the time and get more $$'s later.

You can see them on eBay, http://www.ebay.com. To be honest, I love playing LPs, they are wonderful, something different that many people don't buy. You can have a yard sell, too, but you probably won't get too much money. You may try going to community fairs during the summer time, you may have some luck there.

Ok here you can do :
Before you do sell it, here you have to do :
1. Make a list about the artist and the title.
2. Check the condition of each title that you want to sell.
3. Make a list also with the record label, upc number or barcode number and the year of the release and also the country that release the item. You can do this during you check the condition or when you check the artist or title.
4. Check the price of each title you have. Through the internet.
After that, you can sell it this way :
1. You open a garage sell in your place, of course you need to advertise your sale with any pamflet or through the radio.
2. Come to vinyl shops near you and offer your stuff there, but of course sometime you can't get good deal there.
3. You can sell your stuff at the internet, through this website below, and also you can check the comparison price through this website ok, here they the website : ( just google them for easier way to find it )
a. Ebay - a place for direct selling or through the bidding way.
b. gemm.com - a music marketplace with tons of title for you to compare. a cool web to sell your stuff in direct price that you want.
c. netsoundsmusic - a website in UK, cool website also to sell your stuff and to compare your price, they sell in your stuff in poundsterling, but you can send your list to them in US$ then they will change it automatically to their currency. Cool website to try also.
d. Musicstack.com - also a music marketplace, you can be a member and sell your stuff there. Huge place and cool website to sell your stuff, and you can also compare your price there. But you need to pay any price to be their member. But they are really cool. Check them out.
e. amazon - cool web for you to join them in their music market place and be a member.
f. half.com - like ebay, cause they are a sub from ebay, but they sell their stuff in quiet low price. maybe you can sort your stuff and place there.
g. halfvalue.com - cool website also to sell your stuff, check them.
h. cdandlp.com - a french music market place, just like gemm or netsounds but they are in france.
I have told you everything, so check them all, i hope you can get a good price with your stuff, in my opinion the best web is gemm, ebay, amazon and netsound to start.
Enjoy to be a seller, and have a good price for your rare stuff.
