is myspace good or bad?

I don't think that it is all that great. I am a teacher and I hear my students talk about going on Myspace and talking to all sorts of people and they say that they want to meet these people...when I tell them that there are bad people out there and all they want to do is hurt kids they say "I asked them and they say that they are OK." Kids now a days are naive and think that they know everything. I think that there needs to be a limit for myspace. But...that's just my opinion. :)

If you use it for contacting friends, it's supposedly ok
but heres some safety tips:
1. DON'T BROWSE PROFILES. Myspace allows user to upload any content onto their profiles, including javascript (a script exploited many times by 'drive by download' spyware sites) which can cause quite a problem. (**This happened to me before already, hijacked my browser and silently installed win32/puper 'zlob'. If you encounter this spyware, visit http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-zlob.html **)
2. SET YOUR PROFILE TO PRIVATE. Don't talk to strangers.
3. ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ADDRESS. There are many myspace 'mirror' sites out there, usually designed to steal peoples personal info and passwords.
4. DON'T CLICK THE ADS. Most cause spyware.

It's good if you are only adding people you know previously or that you communicate with frequently. Adding total strangers to your account is not a good thing to do, but some people do.

Good, it lets you meet knew people, expand your knowledge, socialize with friends. Bad, if you dont control yourself or meet with strangers.

it's good because you can stay in touch with friends/family that you don't live near to.
get one if you don't have one!

DONT add random people you don't know, that's when it becomes bad.
