I have another computer! This one is a HP Pavilion 3265 with Windows 95 but my parents can't afford to buy me a new computer. I have to deal with what I have in other words. I've never had a lot of problems with this computer before but today when I was talking on AOL and my computer froze twice. When it freezes, I usually have to restart it like 4 times for it to work again. Today it kept freezing, what can I do (besides not use AOL) to help with this problem?

It all depends on what AOL version you are running. Probably AOL UP TO Ver 7 is fine, (I'd use AOL 6)

Windows 95 has an issue with releasing memory addresses. So if you freeze and WARM reboot AKA CTRL+ALT+DEL or RESET then the memory is NOT Cleared and you acutually have LEES memory.

You really need to SHUT the computer down ALL the way by turning it OFF.

If you go to EBAY you can find PIII Dell computers, ( I think 933MHZ), for around $150.00 This is WITH Windows XP Home AND the restore CD's AND the most important part.. THE XP COA from Microsoft.

The CPU in that computer is 233MHZ Pentium 1.

Here is a EBAY Link... for the WHOLE gambit of PIII

It's time for an upgrade... Really...

It is your AOL, that browser takes up alot of your memory and processes. And since you do have an older computer the processor can't handle all that work. try deleting stuff you don't use or processor heavy programs.

You can download this free and safe program called Advanced Windows Care that might help, check first to see if it supports Windows 95. Chow
