I am looking for experienced grant writers to help gain money for a non profit organization I am starting for kids. What should I look for when searching for grant writers? Should I ask for references or see copies of proof they were successful at getting grants?

Hi Z,

I know that you want to hire someone, but what if you found a tool that assists you immensely in writing the grant yourself? I did some research on the Internet and found some resources for you. Check out http://elfurl.com/tybx2 and http://elfurl.com/4iulv

I hope this helps you,

I suggest you check with grant writers associations to help ensure that you find experienced and knowledgeable grant writers. Here are some resources:

American Association of Grant Professionals http://www.grantprofessionals.org
GrantExperts.com http://www.grantexperts.com
Association of Fund Raising Professionals http://www.afpnet.org/

Definitely ask for references and their batting average in terms of how many successful grant award applications they have. Especially see if they have experience in doing grant applications for your field.
