I know it sounds absurd...but couldn't it probably help someone learn the finger movements and things? Please actual Guitar players only.

maybe, but definatly not tach them, just as the dance dance revolution things, u learn only to move ur feet in 2 directions, and you have to control not to move anywhere or u wil go off teh mat, same story wit hgiutar hero, it limits u to like 4 or 5 preset things

No because on a real guitar you have to worry about what fret you are playing in and what strings your fingers are on, not to mention if the guitar is in tune. In guitar hero all you have to do is push a button.

Nope.
Scale is different, there are no chords to shape your fingers into, no strings, nothing.
The only thing it would help with would be the whammy bar.
