The original singer of AC/DC was Bon Scott. 6 Months after AC/DC released "Highway to Hell" album, Scott died. Some say it was similar to John Bonham (of Zeppelin) in that he choked on his on vomit from passing out drunk. Others believe it had to do with him being asthmatic. Either way he died, and the band thought of just quitting. However, Malcom Young (rhythm guitar and Angus Young's brother) wouldn't stand for that. They went out and got Brian who is a close match to Bon Scott's vocals. There are noticeable differences though. Bon Scott's sound is more raspy, like he's got something caught in his throat. Brian's is a little "cleaner" in that manner (don't get me wrong, it's edgy). Listen to "Back in Black" or "Hell's Bells" and then listen to "Highway to Hell" or "It's a Long Way to the Top (if You Want to Rock and Roll)" You can tell the difference in the lead vocals.

Not that I know of. Bon Scott died, way back when, and that's when Brian took over.
