My little Hyosung GV-250 has a reliable gas guage and tachometer. Never thought about looking for those things on my new bike. Luckily my new (used) bike came with an aftermarket tach. I'd hate to be without that. But I miss the fuel gauge. Am I doomed to a life of switching over to the reserve tank and back all the time?

have a 2k5 v-star my self, no such luck with getting a fuel gauge buddy, best bet is to use the odometer, your fuel milage should be always about the same if you ride the same way all the time, figure out how far before you have to hit reserve and start setting your self up for stops about that time (am sure thats what ya have been doing anyways)

No, use the tripmeter to figure out how far you can go. My son has a 02 that gets about 120 to 130 miles before he has to get gas. He doesn't use the odometer, easier to just reset the tripmeter to 0 when you refuel and gas up when you reach your number.

I would check on ebay. I have bought a lot of parts from there before. BE SURE to check the sellers ratings and how long they have been saleing, so you don't get burned.

contact a yamaha dealer and find out if they have one. if they do, just start hunting the cycle supply dealers to find the aftermarket version. yoiu can also make one but you have to know how.
