i need to find a short black or plaid skirt by friday and all i can find are ones that hit below the knee and i don't want to pay a small fortune for one

Go to Danice or rainbow. Look in the internet for stores near you. You'll probly get one from btwn 7-20 dollars (at Danice) and 5-10 dollars (at rainbows)

just roll the skirt at the waistband so it is the length you want. Or use duct tape to hem the bottom to the length you want.
