I can no longer physically, emotionally or mentally keep up with doing it by myself and I want to get out before I loose it all. I thought it would be a good retirement plan - NOT!

How long is your lease? A lease in a good area is worth a lot. Do you have lawyer's referral service? You may not need a lawyer but you could get some good advice which should only cost you a little bit.Tally up what you have put in,and all of the equipment. You may be able to sell off the equipment and glasses etc seperately from selling your lease.I would also talk to any other bar owners in your area. They may know of someone who wants to own a bar.I hope this is helpful. Another thought: After you are sure what you can get for your place, bar or other-put a notice in the paper or on the internet. Cheers!

Find yourself a real estate agent to begin making plans to sell. Contact the cigarette/liquor license offices to let them know of your plans. Maybe you can get a refund back on the licenses for the 6 or so months that you won't have the bar operational.
