im from wyoming and i have to write a paper on why there is more precipitation in some parts than in others and why there are different temperatures in different parts of the state? why is that?

I think the answer you're mostly looking for is "differences in elevation". Especially in/around the mountains.

Average temps are generally lower at higher elevations, and the mountains have a great effect on where rain and snow fall. The average temperatures are probably a bit higher in southern WY than they are in northern WY, too, all else being equal, due to the difference in latitudes.

The reason why some parts of wyoming has more rain than others is because of the humidity and dew point. If parts of wyoming humidity (in percent) is lower than 40 percent and dew point is lower than 30 degrees, that means the air can be tooo dry for it to rain so otherwise the rain would fall halfway into the atmosphere and evaporate before it reaches the ground
