The rule, as always, is to stay away from those that ask you to pay before you can get these surveys.

Legitimate market survey companies such as Pinecone Research recruit members based on demographic characteristics -- e.g. mothers of babies 0-12 years old -- and will send surveys of products and services targeting this demographic group. Pinecone Research, however, pays only $5 per survey -- you're definitely not going to be rich with that. They can give you anywhere from 1-5 at most surveys in a month.

Other companies simply ask you to answer as many research as possible, and you don't earn anything just the chance to win at a raffle (which I find lame).

I honestly am not aware of any legitimate online survey companies, but I am aware of an at home business opportunity, which would certainly get you much further income wise. The company I recently enrolled with is currently offering two at home business positions, one where we help others save money on their health insurance by offering them our benefits package, and the other would be helping individuals, such as yourself, find an at home position! You would be your own boss, set your own goals, work on your own time...and probably most importantly..bring in some extra cash. If you are interested, simply click my avatar image, which should take you to my YA profile. Once you are in my profile, you will see a link, click the link, review the companies' website, and request an interview. Its that simple! Just a side note, the company is in excellent standing with the Better Business Bureau, has been featured on the show 60 minutes, and offers free health benefits. Best of luck to you!

I've listed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:

http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys

I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).

As you're searching, here are some tips to avoid scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.

Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).

Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.

Here are two other sites which are very helpful
