Seriously what type of music can compare? Rap dosent have the staying power. Dance music is too forgetable. And 80's music is too dated.

30 years goes back to 1977. So, I am afraid that this is no contest because that just barely includes the first wave of punk rock. As good as some grunge music is, it is in no where near the same league as the music made by bands like Television and The Clash.

* The best music around is still the Beatles, Doors, Peter paul and Mary, Moody Blues, jefferson airplane, Iron Butterfly, It's a Beautiful; Day, John Kay and Steppenwolf, johnny Cash, Willie Nelson Kris Kristofferson, Waylon Jennings.*

Nope, not me. I am stuck in the 80's myself. Don't get me wrong, there is some grunge I do like, but nevermind Nirvana. Did not like it. Rap, nah. But, 80's had a good groove to it. Grunge was only good for the bi-polar angry kids that had no other way to release their anger.

I like Disco music,70's, the Begees, Donna Summer, Abba...it brings back memories for me when I was really really young, nostalgia of NYC.
