It should be fine unless you tend to get lightheaded or shaky. The only thing I have ever heard warned against is inversion (being upside down) some yoga instructors recommend avoiding poses that invert the core of your body during your period.

If you have a heavy flow and are worried about accidents, I would recommend checking out the Diva Cup or a similar product, I switched a year ago and it made a huge difference.

Its always ok to exercise. It actually helps relieve cramps if you have any. If the flow is real heavy just make sure you don't have any embarrassing overflow!

It is always perfectly okay to exercise. Whether your period is light or heavy. Nothing should stop you from exercising and keeping in shape :) It is better to wear a tampon though, so you don't have any leaks :)

It is perfectly ok to exercise. It won't do anything. However, if you tend to get weak kneed or cramping, you may want to lay low.
