OK bro, here it is. The very first thing is to make up you mind about it. As in say that I am not a pothead anymore.
Second stay away from you friends that smoke pot for a while. If you have been smoking for a while, chances are that everyone you know smokes and it will be hard to stay away from them. just try avoiding them for at least the first a few days.
Third, get out more. Just being in the sun will help. try making new friends.
The first a few days are very hard.......and it doesn't get easy until about 5-6 months, where you can actually say no to it. Just keep reminding yourself you are not a smoker.
Give yourself a very good reason to stop. or a excuse to stop for a while.
I have been clean for a while...I told my self that I was just taking a break and once I have a family and kids and when they go off to college I will start again. I had worked so far, but i still think about it. Of course weed was not the only thing I did, so some times reality feels just too much.
I do think that once you stop and the HAZE starts to clear up you have a lot better understanding of the world then people who have never done anything.
I was high 24/7. i used to wake up in the middle of the night and smoke and goto bed again. It was the first thing I did when i woke up befor I even got out of bed. I was high at work, school, outside, inside, at the mall, the movies....when i stopped I realzed how I remeber pretty much noting for the better part of the last decade. If i can do it, you can do it.
good luck

Go to a hippie shop, they have Herbal blends that give you the same effect. It's really difficult to roll though. I can't remember the name of it but the best kind I found when I quit was in a purple pouch- ask the guy who works there more than likely he can suggest the right brand. It will keep your mind off it, but you'll just be replacing the weed with something else. After time you might want to find something else to do or slowly wean yourself off the fake stuff. By the way- I wouldn't buy any of it over the internet.

Pick a date to stop and explain to all of your friends that you are stopping. dont let yourself be put in situations here you would smoke, and don't have any weed in your house or easily available to you. If you have a couple gs, smoke it off with your smoking budies and have a good time but make sure everyone knows its your last time. You can also make an excuse to tell your friends aside from the real reason in case they think your real reason is too cheesy.

Wow if your anything like me I smoke so much I don't ever want to stop even though its illegal. But try keeping yourself occupied that way you aren't thinking of smoking it. Think of all the bad things/trouble you can get into by smoking it. If all else fails get put in rehab for it or counciling even though I know you probably don't want to do that. But hope this helps a little. Good Luck.

I stopped because of my boyfriend. I always did it because it was fun and everyone did it, then I realized that I don't have to do it just to have fun. And my boyfriend is way more important then smoking. Try finding another hobby, and know that you don't have to do it to have fun. Try to stay away from it as much as possible, don't be around your friends when they do it, because you'll just want to do it more. Put thoughts in your mind like, you could get into a lot of trouble with it, and it isn't good for you. :) Goodluckkk

Get rid of all the crap around your house that has to do with weed, dont hang around friends that are still doing it, not saying end the friendship, just dont hang in the same room as them, and even tho it will be hard in the beginning, just remember, it will get easier every day after. Good luck!

Put your head in a vice, it will be a very difficult position to smoke in, and, the pressure on your head will take your mind off weed.

First of all, you might want to look for some new friends who don't do drugs. Make a list of the things you like to do, and do them instead of smoking. Some people really like doing volunteer work to fill their time. It helps someone else, and makes you feel better about yourself.
Good luck!!!

Get rid of it all and find something else you like to do.

I used this exact line on one of my friends who I'd been trying to get to quit for some time, and he simply replied with, "well there's nothin else I like doin."

Here is where you know you have a huge problem. You gotta find something that can successfully occupy your time instead of getting high.

Also, don't try to wean yourself off of it, attempting to use smaller and smaller amounts, because that only makes you need it more, and the little amount that you allot yourself will only seem as a "reward". Instead, just get rid of it altogether and be done with it.

As for "withdrawl" symptoms, forget about em. They won't kill you like your constant weed will...not to mention all the money you've been throwing away on it.
