PRACTICE, PRACTICE and more PRACTICE!!
And don't just practice around the house...It's a whole new world once you hit the street! Go for walks in the park, walk the dogs, do housework, around-the house chores (outside on hard surfaces..), wash the car, etc... Things which are not highly visible to the public until you're comfortable. Befor eyou know it they'll be like extensions of your legs and all will be natural!!

I agree with the other posts in that you have to break the shoe in a little before wearing them out in public, but for it to be more comfortable to you, I would make sure that you wear a thin sock or hose with them while you are breaking them in. It helps it to stretch the shoe without causing sores on your feet thus preventing you from comfortably wearing the shoes in the future. Do not practice on carpet when you are walking in the higher heels. You will fall if you aren't used to them. If you have weak ankles, they may roll a little until your stronger. Your calves and knees may also hurt some. Maybe try some leg exercises (calf raises, lunges, etc.) and stretches to decrease any pain.

it just takes practice. but a good exercise in gaining tolerence to high heels is to buy a ridiculous pair of heels. i have a pair that is 4.5". before i get ready to go out i wear the super high heels around my house for a while. then i get dressed and put on my 3" or 3.5" heels, and they feels so comfortable and easy to walk in...i could wear them all night.

The best way to get used to wearing high heels is by wearing them for about a month. Soon, you get so used to them you'll forget that you're wearing them!

It takes practice. Start out walking slow and always walk standing up straight and tall. If they are pointed toe and hurt your toes, stick 2 cotton balls at the point of each toe, it will make them more comfortable. You will eventually get used to it, I wear heels everyday to school.
Hope this helps!

Start with shorter heels and work your way up. Wear them with jeans to causual events until you get used to them.
