(Set in the Victorian era)
John (Age 26) has a brother, named George (age 24), and ever since John had accidentally crippled George in a riding accident, John had felt it his duty to make George happy, more out of guilt than love for his brother (is this phsycologically possible?).As George's fiancee abandoned him because she'd been grossed out with his crippled legs (she was a shallow girl) John felt it his duty to find him another girl. He does, but soon falls in love with the girl himself. That girl and George marry. But then one day, John gives George an overdoes of opium, and George dies. Why would George, a self-righteous (?) and dutiful man, kill his brother by giving him an overdoes of opium?

I meant, Why would JOHN a self-righteous (?) and dutiful man, kill his brother by giving him an overdoes of opium?

"more out of guilt than love for his brother (is this psychologically possible?)."... very possible. Guilt in this case becomes a binding life contract and subsequent burden for John. He may very well understand this on some level or may be totally unaware of this portion of his inner life. This would be reason enough to overdose his brother, even if only subconsciously. Adding the fact that John is in love with George's wife could, just as well, lead one to believe otherwise. Sure would make great material for a trial, wouldn't it?

I think it is a pretty decent story line, although, if the fiance is 'grossed' out by the legs, I don't think she would have ever made it to be a 'fiance'. Just a girlfriend. Guilt is a very strong emotion, that is why a lot of parents are able to guilt their children LOL. And yes. Love could make a person do horrible things. Good luck with your story. But get it copy-righted before posting anymore on here. Also check to see originality, unless this is some kind of school project or something simple like that.

Love. Love makes some people totally crazy. I would base the reasoning around that. As for your other question I suppose guilt could be a stronger emotion than love for some people, everyone is different so nothing is really out of the question.

Guilt can be overwhelming to poor John. Add to that his love for George's fiance and you have a compelling albeit perhaps sub-conscious desire to remove the dual problem of guilt plus jealousy and frustration.
