So i have this plan...for over the summer. My friends and i were talking about how much we missed our childhood. And i came up with this idea to play all these kids games over the summer at a local park.
-My plan is to play: Capture the flag - both teams are going to have different colored shirts on right..and instead of tagging people...we would use paint. Fill water balloons and such with paint....and that would show if you got tagged.
-We were also going to play 4-square, parachute, tug of war, a big game of basketball and dodge ball.-
--i haven't really told my friends about this yet....
I'm kind-of embarrassed and feel they might think it's stupid. If you were 18 and a freshman in college would you think this was a stupid idea? Do you think it's a stupid idea? Tell me what you think before i go and tell them....about it
Would you do this at 18? Should i get rid of any of my ideas? OPINIONS PLEASE!

I think its a pretty good idea.What i wouldnt give to play some of the games you mentioned again..the paint in the park part though...you might wanna think twice on that one..the cops might tack that up to mischevious vandalism...in a public park..

First, I'm not a big fan of anything with paint. I would think you could play tag (the way you did as a kid) without making a big mess in a park.
Not long ago there was a thing on television about how adults are getting together to play kids games just for the reason you describe, so there's a trend these days. People doing it are a lot older than you are.
If you decide to do it I think you ought to add some junkie candy (Nerds, Now-and-Later, Pixie Stix, Nik-l-Nips, dots) and some junkie drink (if you ever had that) or else juice boxes. You could give everyone a set of jax and some crayons and a coloring book to bring home.

in my honest opinion i think
(Capture the flag is a great idea....4-square is a bit "boring" i wouldn't play that with my friends parachute....i loved that game when i was little but i doubt i would do that as an 18 year old myself right now so get rid of that too. Tug-of war is AWESOME! I play basketball so keep that and dodge ball is another great sport. So keep all but 4-square and parachute and your good to go for a good time.

I think it all depends on your relationship with your friends, and if they are "the serious type" or the more laid back type.
It gets harder & harder to let your hair down and be silly the older we get because we think everyone will think it is stupid.
I say if you really want to do this, talk to the person in your group that you think would be the most receptive to the idea, and get some feedback first, if that person likes the idea, you have just rounded up some support for your cause... if not, you swear them to secrecy and forget the idea. Have fun... and if you really feel the need to re-live some of it and your friends won't participate.. look to the younger generation and play with them, they love it when we do!!

except for the balloons full of paint - I think it's a great idea.
Why not just use balloons filled with water? Wet spot = "you're out". I doubt the powers that be would appreciate alot of coloured paint splattered everywhere.
Also if it's a public park, you need to be aware of little kids and birds regarding broken balloons. Broken balloons should be picked up and trashed.
Capture the flag is fun enough - just make tags out of strips of caution tape (*yellow for one team, orange for aother) that players can tuck in their back of their pants.... but don't forget to discard all of that too.

Its never a bad idea to keep the kid alive within you. I think it is a great idea, and it sounds like a ton of fun. Go for it. Don't forget, hoola hoop and trampoline. Or a trip to the beach for frisbee, and volley ball and sand castles. Wish i could go : )

Go for it- you sound like a fun person! Your friends won't ever make you feel silly. They are more than likely going to love the idea unless they have something better to do. Bring up the idea very casually like..."Hey! You know what might be fun? da-da--da"
I like the whole idea!

Your never to old to play! I have shoe's older than you and I think it would be a hoot to relive some of the games of my youth. Just make sure you use paint that washes off or you will have some pissed off buds. Have fun :)

I would do this at ANY age! Dude, this is great, but the paint idea... not so much. Like water balloons, but paiont can get in eyes, paint over pupils... ew.
