When I attempt to install the free download it says I need 17 million more gigabytes of space. Why is it saying this? My hard drive is only 100 gb.

D, okay seriously do you want me to take a screenshot of the error box and post it because I will if thats what it will take. I know that the game doesn't take that much space it actually only needs 3.5 gb compared to the 6 that you stated earlier. Wrong about the megabytes too the number should be bigger not smaller.

You read it wrong, it says more than 17 million people play the game. You need at least 6.0 GB of space to install it, read the requirements again.

Ok, then I think you sill read it wrong, in any case there is no way the game of warcraft would need 17 million GB, if anything it would be the number of bytes (which would be the most logical conclusion)...so lets do the math 17,000,000 / 1000 = 17000 MB (Megabytes), so lets find out the number of giga bytes 17000 / 1000 = 17 GB. Try uninstalling programs you dont need, you can always download the beta version of WoW, then update it using the included updater (honestly it would be a lot better and faster to get another cd).

What I suggest you do is post how much free hard drive space you have, post it in a new question if nessasary, and if we cant solve the problem call the bliz hotline...which it really doesnt' seem like you would need to.

I recently had the same problem, i deleted the file, downloaded it again and then it worked fine. Not sure what caused it for me but just probably something wrong with my computer.
