A group of us girls are traveling for a weekend in Vegas- we are all on a budget. I've gotten a lot of great advice here at Yahoo answers- one girl in our group wants to see a magic show? Anything budget friendly?

You've gotten great answers so far. I'll just add my personal preferences after having seen most of the afternoon magic shows (afternoon shows are almost always cheaper).

Mac King was really entertaining. It was low budget, but Mac is a really great showman and is truly funny.

Dirk Arthur was technically good, but not as in touch with the audience. Had a boring and longish movie clip about his tigers as part of the show (ZZzzzzz).

Nathan Burton was enjoyable - a bit more of a show than Mac King, but not quite as endearing.

Rick Thomas was perhaps not as technically good as Dirk Arthur, but still, I found the show more enjoyable than Dirk's.

The two BEST magic shows in Vegas are Penn and Teller ($80 range) and Mac King ($20 range). This is the opinion of several surveys, many Vegas sites and magazines, and the two largest magic magazines in the US.

I've seen both (and others) and agree. The BEST value is Mac Kings!

When we were in M&M World, someone was even handing out coupons for 2 FREE tickets to the show- with the only catch being you had to buy 2 drinks at $7.99 each- which meant the two of us saw it for under $20 and got drinks as well.

Tip the seater for better, up front seats- although all of the seats are good!

(Another bonus- this is a MANTINEE show- 1:00 and 3:00- plenty of time to stop afterwards for his autograph and still do lots of other stuff!)

The best of the afternoon magic shows is Dirk Arthur "Extreme Magic" at the Tropicana - Tickets are $29 , BUT, 2-4-1 coupons are easily available in Las Vegas magazines like "Today in Las Vegas" . These magazines are free and usually in your hotel/room. Dirk Arthur is the only magician(on the strip) that has White Tigers in his act. That alone IMHO is worth the price of admission, they're beautiful animals...If you're looking for strictly magic, this ones the best, the Mac King show is the better all around show..

Nathan Burton - Aladdin - $30 - this one has a little of everything, comedy, magic, dancing, etc..

Mac King - Harrah's - $19.95 or $18.76 for 2 if you use the coupons available from the booth in the Carnaval Court at Harrah's. Or sign up for the "Total Rewards" slot club card at Harrah's. One "first time" sign up = 2 tickets to the show. NO you are not required to play, but you can't have had a Harrah's slot club card before. This has been offered for years but you never know. MK is a comedy & magic show, far and away the best of the afternoon shows in Las Vegas! - 702-369-5111

Rick Thomas - Orleans - $29 - Not as good a show as Dirk Arthur's but not bad either. Thomas also uses animals in his act including White Tigers..

Penn & Teller - Rio - $60-$75

Lance Burton - Monte Carlo - $70-$76

you can go to this site and enter the dates you're going to be in Las Vegas. Every show in LV and info on each. If you're interested in David Copperfield, he is in LV quite a bit, his show is awesome, but not cheap.

Not magic - but your group seems to be interested in diverse entertainment. If you're interested in "value" shows this might be right up your alley..Larry G Jones "The man of 1002 voices" at Fitzgeralds 9pm Thursday through Monday $22 or you could pay $100 to see Danny Gans at the Mirage. Jones is just as good if not better IMHO...

You could kill a whole night, go downtown to the Fremont Street Experience, eat dinner at the Fremont hotel's seafood buffet(Tue/Fri/Sun $16), see the LG Jones show at the Fitz..That's a pretty nice evenings entertainment for $38...

You'll want to check out either

NATHAN BURTON or
RICK THOMAS

Both are very good. But, please note, i said NATHAN BURTON not LANCE burton..... Nathan is over at the Aladdin in the V theatre. The show is also family oriented. You can get in for roughly $26... coupons are often avail - if you look 'round town.

RICK THOMAS played at the Stardust for quite a while -- good showman!!

wont break your wallet friend...
