Petrucci is great but I gotta go with Hendrix.

The best ever would be Randy Rhoads but he died before his prime.

Randy Rhoads. Although Marty Friedman and John Sykes rate right up there with me. I can't stand Y Malmsteen. His sh*t bores me right away. JP is fast and has alot of technique and is certainly better than Malmsteen. JP can play some scary sounding stuff. He uses goofyass scales and runs, but has the ability to at least make some sense of it. Malmsteen is overrated. If you have a chance listen to how that ***hole butchered the solo on Mr. Crowley off of the Bathead Soup tribute. I'd rather clean my ears with a screwdriver than listen to that. I bet JP could do a decent job on that tune, but it's really not his style.

Fav guitar players are Yngwie J. Malmsteen, Ace Frehley, & Vivian Campbell. Do I think they rank amoung the most talented? No... with the exception of Yngwie. But these are my personal favs for various reasons.

I'd have to say Jimmy Page. He, along with Led Zeppelin, revolutionized the world of rock. Especially with that crazy double guitar on Stairway to Heaven. Not sure what it's called, but it sure is awesome.
