i got my apendix out and she only sended me a get well soon card im 17 and i live by myself well w/i a friend. she didnt even sign it or anything she didnt call or say anything at all she needs to get it through her head that money cant buy me........anymore im pissed should i be?

Well, I guess there is a reason you are living independently at 17.
Your mom is who she is. You need to accept that and move on. Don't cut her off unless she's actually destructive, but don't expect too much from her. A little mom is better than none, unless she's destructive.
You are functionally an adult even though you are not 18 yet. You need to build your future now. You can't change the past. Try not to hold a grudge, because that won't help you. But use good judgment about whom you let into your life.

I am 22 years old and my mother was there for the birth of my son a year ago. i would never have just taken a card from her. She would have heard a major ear full from me. Just because you are being indepent at 17 doesnt mean she cant be less of a mother. I would be very mad.. but i would calmly sit her down and ask why she didnt feel she couldnt call or come and visit you. Maybe there was something bothering her.
