neutrons have no charge. electrons have a negative charge and protons have a positive charge.
neutrons are located in the nucleus of the atom along with protons. And, to offset the postive charges in the nucleus, the electrons orbit around the atoms to balance the charges.

First of all, *are* neutrons negative or positive. And no, they are neither neither (neutral/neutron).
An atom has a nucleus which is surrounded by electrons (which have a negative charge). The nucleus, which is VERY dense is made up of protons and neutrons. Protons have a positive charge, which is what attracts the electrons (opposites attract). However, since the nucleus is so compacted, the neutrons are necessary to hold the nucleus together, because if they weren't there, then the positive charges of the protons would repel, and there would be no atom [hence, no objects/life]
I always find that jokes help me remember information, so here's one about neutrons:
A neutron goes to a restaurant and orders his meal. When the neutron finishes his food, he calls over the waiter and asks how much the bill is. The waiter replies, "For you? No charge!"

Protons and neutrons are made up of quarks. six types of quarks exist: Up & down, top & bottom, and strange & charm. Protons are made of two up quarks and one down quark (u-type and d-type, respectively, for short) and neutrons are made up of two d-type and one u-type quark (a really badly-humored way to remember is a neutron is a d-u-d because it has to charge)

Protons and neutrons each have the same mass (approximately 1 amu) and are both found in the nucleus at the center of the atom. The electrons are MUCH lighter and orbit the nucleus in the empty space around it. Protons are positively charged, electrons have a negative charge, and neutrons are neutral (no charge).
