I am doing an introduction unit in biology on energy sources.
It would be helpful if you also answered these:
What is the energy source for a candle?
How is energy released in a candle, dead mouse, small plant and human being?
How do living things release energy that they need?

#1. Simple Sugars! Converted into ATP

#2. Oxygen I'd say for the candle, to allow the combustion reaction to occur, because with no oxygen, there's no fire.

#3. It's an exothermic reaction, how I'd just say through cell processes, in releasing excess heat, which is considered useless energy

#4. Release energy of what they need.... ummm well you could get really particular and talk about how the ATP is released, like in plants through the kreb cycle but I don't know if that's the way to go. I'm not really sure about that one, sorry.
