I think most everything in the movie is up for interpretation. That being said, I think the Faun was good. He gave her the mandrake root to help her mom out. He also helped her to go back to the underground kingdom. Which seemed to make her happier than being alive.
But you gotta ask yourself. If she gave the faun her brother, would he have hurt him?

ok, i will attempt to assist a dash besides the reality that it form of puzzled me if it substitute into actual or not. If I undergo in strategies wisely she used some chalk to make a mystical door into the room. She set the chalk on the captains table and he stumbled on it. in a super number of memories the hero ought to be examined to make beneficial they're worth of the reward. Pan could not take her blood, through fact if she might have keen sacrificed an harmless to maintain herself, she does not be worth. She does not be showing "royal" ideals. Ofelia made it in the path of the maze through fact the hedge parted for her and then closed back up in the past the captain grew to become the corner. desire this helps. Have a super day!

The faun represents the tricky road that one has to follow to pursuit happiness. He doesn't have a moral, he is just testing the will of the little girl to get to her final destination.

The faun? He's good. He was testing the girl, but had the devil's advocate role. He's the one who brings the girl to her family in the end.

He's good, he did what he had to do to, so that she would follow the correct path.
