My husband and I just found out that we are pregnant again(our son will be 3 in May), and we are scared that this pregnancy will be harder than the first, in the past I have heard that it is easier the second time around. Anyone out there who knows please give me some insights

my 1st. was so easy, i had no problems at all,not even morning sickness, and delivery was a breeze! i pushed for 3 mins. and never felt a contraction....my 2nd was the complete opposite.
the doc. told me that deliveries for the second baby is faster that it is for the 1st. but it wasn't in my case.
it's true what they say that every pregnancy is different.

All women are different. No pregnancy is identical. My first pregnancy was a breeze, labor was a different story (241/2 hrs). My second pregnancy was also a breeze, labor again different story (281/2 hrs). I am 30 wks pregnant with my third, this pregnancy has been pretty bad. 24 hr sickness the first four mos., I am miserable 24/7, I have little or no patience most of the time, and no matter what I do, I can't get rid of the fatigue. I wouldn't be worried about how it's going to go for you this time around. Take it day by day, and keep in mind no matter what it's like... it's all worth it. Good luck.

I am not rying to scare you or make you dread anything, but my 2nd pregnancy was filled with problems compared to my first. With my first son, the only thing that was troublesome was the morning sickness in the beginning. But with the 2nd, I was not sick and thought it was wonderful not to have those problems again but then 6 months hit and I got a kidney infection as well as kidney stones......all during a hurricane no less. Then I had to have NST's once a week and ultrasounds 2 times a week because the amniotic fluid was low a few times and they put me on bed rest and in the hospital a few times to ensure his safety. While in the hospital I started to have contractions at 6 months and they put me on breathine to stop the contractions. Honestly though, I think it was all due to the fact I wasn't intaking enough water and the contractions I believe were of being stressed about the whole situation. If I were to ever become pregnant again, I would definately make myself have a taste for water and stay hydrated all the time and get lots of rest. I think in my situation stress had a lot to do with it being that we had just bought out new house, were decorating it, then a week later a hurricane hit, and that day I started passing a kidney stone. I think if you just take care of yourself properly you should be just fine. Don't sweat the small stuff!! Good luck!

For me, my second pregnancy ended in miscarriage, but the third pregnancy (second full term) was much easier than the first. I didn't get any morning sickness, and of course, I pretty much knew what to expect. I didn't have to call the Dr all the time. Both my kids were born via c-section as I have a clotting disorder and the Dr wanted to have full control over the delivery. I was more prepared to handle the pain after c-section the second time around for sure. Anyways, that was just me.

The second should be easier because you've already been through this before. So you know the changes your body will go through etc.
But how your body handles each pregnancy is different. You may have more/less morning sickness etc.
Both of my pregnancies were really good. my first labour went for 9 hrs and second for 1& a half hrs. so each labour/delivery is different as well.

Every pregnancy is different. My first 2 pregnancies were a breeze, no morning sickness, normal weight gain, etc...This is my third and I am 22 weeks and it has been very difficult, I am tired the whole time, still have morning sickness and have lost weight that my dr. keeps telling me I need to gain. I thought maybe I was having a boy this time since this one is so different, but found out 2 weeks ago I'm having another girl, so hopefully it will be a pregnancy you can enjoy, if it is less than enjoyable for you, just remember you have a new baby to look foward to. good luck!!!!

All pregnancies are different, so it's hard to say. I had a harder time with my second child, but it doesnt necessarily mean you will. The good thing about it, is that you already have an idea of what to expect. I hope you find your answer :) Our boys are almost 3 years apart. I had a harder pregnancy with the second, but a much speedier delivery.

I found it much easier with my second pregnancy. With the first, I had morning sickness for 3 months. With the second, I felt great the whole time. Delivery was easier, too.

I too was scared the second time around. Only because I had a c-section the first time and I didn't know much about labor. So, for me no, it wasn't easier. I think it was harder, because you had to push the baby out, without epidural.

Don't be scared.
You obviously haven't stated exactly why it was so bad - I am hoping it wasn't complications with yourself or the baby.
But no matter what was wrong last time, you have to remain positive and tell yourself you will breeze through this and have a beautiful, healthy baby at the end of it.
I am 8 weeks into my second and at this stage are so thankful that I am not nearly as sick as last time!
All the very best!

I'm 14 weeks pg with my second and this pregnancy has been nothing like my first. I had no morning sickness with my son and this time around its been non-stop 24 hour a day morning sickness.

But that's me. It could be totally different for you.

also i have lost 10lbs due to the morning sickness
