If the printer is going thought the motions of printing but is spitting out a blank page then you may have a dry cartridge, this is caused by not using the printer for more than a month. In this case you will need to run a number of print head cleanings to hopefully free the blockage or replace the cartridge.

If you have a blinking ink light or one of your cartridges is empty then you will need to replace that cartridge before the printer will print, especially if you have a Canon, Epson or Brother printer.

If your printer is just sitting there idly then it may be a communication error, check your print manager (the little printer on the bottom right of the task bar) and see if there are any job in it. Cancel them all. Turn of the printer and restart the computer. Once the computer is restarted turn the printer back on. It may start printing at this point if it hasn't fully cleaned the jobs from the print manager.

If all else fails unhook the printer from he computer. Install the driver. Restart the computer, install the printer and only connect the printer to the computer when the installation guide says it is OK.

My printer takes one black and three color cartridges. If one cartridge is empty, the printer will not print.

Ensure all cartridges contain ink.
Go into maintenance and clean the print head several times.
Try to print.

If it doesn't work, It just may be that the print head is shot.

Hi Pat
If all has felled you can uninstall the printer and then reinstall it. That happened to me and when I reinstalled it the printer it worked fine. Make sure your Ink is full and your printer is not jammed up! Hope this helps you Pat! Take care!
