We won the Ashes back for the first time in many years just a year and a half ago, but now we get whitewashed for the first time in 80 years or so. Why have England gone from all-conquering hero's to a pitiful mess.
Please don't just gloat, because that would be childish!!

Now now, poor englishman. Don't look at this so negatively. You see this as a great defeat but you could also consider this a great victory for england. This series must have given England a wake-up call. Obviously, nobody wants to be whitewashed. England has learned from their mistakes and will not be whitewashed again. So don't think of this as the fall of English Cricket, think of this as the end of one era and the beginning of another.

You won in 2005 because Australia didn't think you would offer any opposition and you surprised them. You lost this year because Australia thought you would offer lots of opposition and played the type of cricket that wins matches - a level of play England has seldom seen. Australia didn't deserve to win in 2005, England didn't deserve to win in 2006/7.
