You should check it first if it's a vcd or a data disc(well, what i mean is, if he saved it in a certain file format rather than burning it into a Video CD)

Open My Computer, then your CD drive.
Check to see if there is folder named MPEGAV...
if it has, then it should be a VCD

If its a VCD:
Open the MPEGAV folder then select the files(with the DAT extension) presumably named Avseq##.dat or music##.dat
(## is a number, if there are numerous files, then the files would be in order of 01, 02, etc....)

If its not:
Just Select the file.

After you have selected the files:
Right click and then select copy
-OR-
Press and hold (on your keyboard) CTRL and C
-OR-
Click File in the menu bar and then select copy

Open the folder you wish to save the file(preferably inside My Videos in the My Documents folder)

When inside the folder:
Click file and select paste
-OR-
Right click on the empty space and select paste
-OR-
Press and hold CTRL and C

*note: DAT files are editable by the windows movie maker. However, you need to use *.* to see the files instead of the *.avi or *.wmv file formats in the Open dialog box.

First put the CD into the CD ROM drive, wait, and a block will appear asking what do you want to do, choose open using Explorer. You will see the video icon, RIGHT click, choose SEND TO, then Desktop. It will copy the video to your Desktop. Now you can edit it, I don't know what editing software you would use. Maybe someone else will know. Chow.

Place CD in tray, then go to "My Computer from Start Menu,on that screen right click the CD and choose explore. Then from that screen highlight the file (click once) and on the left hand side of screen choose copy. A list should pop up and then choose "My Documents". File should be sent to that folder.
