historical price quotes can be found at http://bigcharts.marketwatch.com/historical/ and http://finance.yahoo.com/q/hp?*enter ticker symbol here*

to specifically answer your question -- it will probably be next to impossible to find the price of Western Atlas, which I believe traded under the ticker WAI, because the company no longer exists. The best bet at finding your answer is to go to a library that has the Wall Street Journal on micro fiche and look up the day in question. You'll find the corresponding daily quotes there.

Western Atlas was formed in 1987 through the merger of Western Geophysical (owned by Litton Industries) and Dresser Atlas. The resulting company was a joint venture of Litton and Dresser Industries until it was spun off as a publicly traded company in 1994.

In 1998, Western Atlas was acquired by Baker Hughes (BHI), and, since then, was named Baker Atlas.

Go to the library see if they have the Wall Street Journal that far back, Call a broker, Call the company, search on-line. It might have changed names, had stock splits, spin offs, etc, but the Company or a Broker can tell you all of this.

Good luck
