What can I Do to stop his cold?

you should try to look for a different vet little further away, look in the yellow pages under animal hospitals or call your local Humane society.
You have a computer so search for guineapig rescue, someone there may be able to help you.
If you absolutely have no resource make sure you keep him warm and drinking lots of fluids.
If he is not scared to be handled you can wrap him in a warm towel/ put towel in the dryer first to get it nice and cozy and just comfort him. Only if he is used to being held though, you don't want to stress him or get him upset...
Make sure he drinks.
If he is hacking or coughing really try to get him seen by a vet.

Then contact a guine pig rescue group.
Go to: http://www.mypetnanny.info/pd/index.htm
Click on Rescues, find your state, look under small critters. If you don't see a guine pig rescue then click on the link that says "See also" you will find Guinea pig rescues under the small critters in that section.

You can look on the internet and research the symptoms to see if you really need to take it to a vet.
Sometimes, a little dab of Vicks on the nose helps, and make sure its cage is not standing in a draft!

Take him to a vet who will treat a Guinea Pig if not treated it will die

give him alittle bit of hot cocoa ,if not just drive to a near town pet hospital or else he will die.look it up in the yellow pages

Is it maybe allergic to the bedding or something?
