interesting situation because many people believe Mr. Blair to be a secret catholic.

We seem to be living in a world where people who have strongly held views are somehow derided for that.
Is it right for us to expect someone to abandon everything they believe in because of the prevailing majority view? Do we abandon ambition or faith?
This is a quote from a BBC corespondent. Is there an answer to this question?
Telling us you "hate the church" is neither helpful nor intelligent on your part and does not further your argument. The question of whether or not the church is bullying politicians is a bit of an oxymoron. People of just about every faith in the Western World EXCEPT Christians enjoy great freedoms. Christians, on the other hand, enjoy freedoms, yes, but at the cost of continued erosion of their basic tenets of their faith by society as a whole - including you.

Geez, you sure know how to make friends. I mean, you're allowed to hate whatever you want, your prerogative, but a good population of people are Catholics, and you provide no support whatsoever as to why you feel that way, other than Blair's "overruling".
However, I do feel that gay people have every right to adopt. I mean, being gay doesn't make you any less responsible. It's the character of a person that makes them a good parent, not their sexual, political, or religious preference.
So, I agree with Blair's decision.

I personally feel that the government and religion (church etc) are two seperate issues and non should interfere in each others domain unless law of the land is broken.
Church gives moral and religious guidance to the faithful, Governments job is to oversee the problems of the society in general, they have no idea on the running of the church.
No govenment in the World has a right to interfere in your religious beliefs. So Blair is totally wrong in his belief.

That church or just any religion ? I think that the Law should be the Law but this Law is as badly considered as most of the three thousand plus laws Labour already has enacted.
If Church's can't stick to their own principles then who can ? Just the Muslims then ? Are they the only religion we now pander to ?
Personally I think they seemed to have overlooked the opinion of the child being placed - shouldn't that be fundamental ?

The simple answer is no. I am a practicing Christian and I don't see why I should have the morality of someone else forced upon me, especially seen as we are supposed to live in a democratic society where all beliefs are taken into account and respected.
This latest action is part of the Governments plan to completey destroy the traditional Christian beliefs that have formed and made this country what it is.

the law states free access to all goods and chattels. When we start treating any person especially vulnerable children, has such!it shows what society has fallen to. For good measure the children's minister who was in charge of Isillington Council when its care homes where run by a peadeophile ring
