110 = 2x+10
You can also write this as:
2x + 10 = 110
Subtract 10 from both sides
2x + 10 - 10 = 110 - 10
2x = 100
Divide both sides by 2
2x/2 = 100/2
x = 100/2
x = 50

Here is how you solve it:
110=2x+10
first you subtract ten to isolate the 'x', and as I'm sure any decent algebra teach would have told you, you have to do to one side what you do to the other. Here's what it would look like.
110=2x+10
-10 -10
100=2x
Then you have to separate the 2 from the x, since it's attached by multiplication you have to divide. And you have to do the same to the other side.
100/2=2x/2
50=x
If you're confused talk to another student or your teacher.

Move your 10 to the other side of the equal sign, subtracting it. Divide that number by 2, thus giving you the answer for x.
