Someone who runs a hedge fund and makes investment decisions. A hedge fund is an entity which manages a pooled amount of money from investors. It is similar to a mutual fund, but has more liberal regulations regarding allowable investments. In particular a hedge fund can short (sell an investment it does not own) in anticipation of the investment falling in price.
